Yesterday it hit 90 degrees in my town, a full 22 degrees above our average high for the date. And yet. So far this fall I’ve gotten a few tastes of those crisp 50-something degree mornings that we call “sweatshirt weather” at my house (and I imagine at many of yours, too). After too many months of too much heat and humidity, my skin longs for soft, cozy layers … and the casual comfort of a just-right sweatshirt.
Whether that sweatshirt is beat-up and beloved or brand-new and waiting to be worn for the first time, I am eager to embrace this year’s coming sweatshirt season. (We’re supposed to have lows in the 30s this weekend so maybe that means sweatshirt weather will be here to stay?)
Every fall I freshen up my longtime favorites with a quick spin through the wash to freshen them up, and typically add one or two new ones for the season to come. Here’s a look at the ones I’m wearing, loving, and considering for fall and winter 2026.
Whether you’re shopping for your own closet or looking for gifts for others, I hope you enjoy this sweatshirt roundup.

MMD Sorority Sweatshirt
The newest addition to my closet! Our MMD collegiate sweatshirt is the perfect way to cozy up and show your Modern Mrs Darcy spirit. As an introvert, I like that “MMD” has meaning for me but not generally to those I encounter out and about. Our Comfort Colors sweatshirts are available in the colors Blue Jean and Crimson (as shown above), sizes S–3XL.

Anthropologie
Some days call for apparel that just makes me happy every time I remember what I’m wearing. I adore that cute little doggo in Maeve’s Tufted Dog Sweatshirt (size 2XS–XL). I love both colorways in the By Anthropologie’s Cotton Fleece Sweatshirt in Ciao and Bien, size XS–L.

Aviator Nation
A classic for a reason: this fun stripey Aviator Nation sweatshirt is available in five colors, size XS–2XL. I’m partial to navy myself (in all things—not just sweatshirts) but if pink or purple is more your jam, go right ahead.

KateTee’s Collection
If you know, you know. This Obstinate Headstrong Girl sweatshirt is available in multiple colors and perfect for whenever you need to channel your inner Elizabeth Bennet, size S–5XL.

AbbyLaurel Prints Co.
I am charmed by this Local sweatshirt. Available in seven colors, size XS–3XL.

Boden
Boden does beautiful sweatshirts, year after year. This year’s new offerings include this Rosa Printed Sweatshirt available in four patterns, size XS–XL.

Evereve
Evereve’s Heritage Crew Sweatshirt comes in four great colors and also a pretty leopard print, size XS-XL. The sturdy fabric and polished style make it easy to dress it up (a little bit) or dress it down.

Marine Layer
Marine Layer has cute reversible sweatshirts! I especially love the one with a little heart, size XS–XL. It’s such an unexpected and welcome little dose of whimsy.

The Sibling Edit
I love the design of this Pemberley sweatshirt so much! It comes in six colors, size S–2XL. This shop also gives you the option to get it as a t-shirt instead.
Are you excited for sweatshirt season? What are your favorite sweatshirts? I hope you’ll share in the comments.

Pippi Post’s Bella + Canvas reading themed sweatshirts are my go to! They’re so soft!!!
I love the ones from Aerie, cozy, oversized and great colors. My favorite is the Deep earth brown. Now if it would just cool off already, 90 degrees in Charlottesville today 🥵
Sweatshirt weather is finally here, and I am wearing my Book Camp sweatshirt! (It’s my favorite-so soft!!) It is an awesome day today (remember, CO has been in a very HOT drought for a while now). It is 60 degrees, really cloudy, and misting.
I love my cozy sweatshirts in northern Wisconsin. Today’s high temperature is 55 degrees. I ordered an MMD Sorority Sweatshirt.
