You, with a View
A viral TikTok sets this story in motion: Twenty-eight year old Noelle is floundering, living back at home with her parents and grieving the loss of her best friend, her grandmother. When she discovers a pile of old photos and love letters hinting at the fact that her grandmother had a great love before she married Noelle's grandfather, Noelle does the best thing she can think of: spills the story on TikTok to help her find her grandmother's mystery man. The good news: the man's grandson immediately comes forward: The bad news: he's her high school nemesis. Noelle and Theo reunite, invite Grandpa into the story, and set off on road trip on which the younger two will learn the secrets of this long-lost love—and maybe fall in love along the way. This was such fun to listen to as narrated by Kyla Garcia; I especially enjoyed the intergenerational component of this sweet and tender story. (Open door.)

This second chance contemporary romance centers on Eli and Georgia, a couple who met and fell in love when they were teenagers, but broke up five years ago under painful circumstances. Now they're back in California to celebrate the wedding of their mutual best friend Adam, and for his sake, they've resolved to pretend that everything is fine and they're both at peace with how things ended. But the truth is they never got over each other. When they're brought back into each other's lives for a week to help pull off the wedding, sparks fly. This was a delightful, smartly-written read with heart and depth; I flew through it. (Open door.)

This new holiday novella from the author of You, With a View and The Ex Vows was the last book I read in 2024, and the perfect close to my reading year. (Many thanks to my friend and team member Leigh who told me it existed—I had no idea!) It's about a woman named Claire who meets a great (and gorgeous) guy she really clicks with ... the night before she's set to move from Portland to San Francisco to take a new job. But before she goes, she embarks on a wildly out of character one-night fling with Connor. When a snow and ice storm turns one night into a whole weekend, that proves to be long enough for them both to realize they belong together, even if their lives make that impossible for the time being. I loved the sweet story, lively banter, and earned happy ending in this delightful little novella.
