Hello and happy Friday! It feels like I’ve spent the whole week talking—it surprises me every time how much talking a book release requires! I’m starting this weekend with Friday coffee planning, and then I hope to get plenty of reading in, along with some writing and lots of Daisy-walking.
I hope your weekend is exactly what you need. Here are some interesting reads and enjoyable things to get you started.
My favorite finds from around the web:
- Philly’s newest ‘Little Free Library’ is filled with yarn instead of books. This is such a great idea!
- I’m so happy I Think You’re Wrong (But I’m Listening): A Guide to Grace-Filled Political Conversations is now available in paperback!
- These Meyer lemon and fresh cranberry scones are always a hit at my house. (Deb says they freeze beautifully but we’ve never had the opportunity to find out.)
- Written Soundscapes: Dialogue and Music in Katrina Jackson’s Layover. FASCINATING. “Podcasting lives in an intermediate space between written fiction and music: like fiction, podcasting often has dialogue and narrative storytelling; like music, it relies on a listening audience and often similar platforms like smartphones and streaming apps.”
- 5 Cheap Ways To Make Your Apartment Feel More Luxurious. These tips apply to non-apartment dwellers too.
Don’t Overthink It: the quiz!
What kind of overthinker are you? Take this quiz and find out.
Don’t miss these posts:
- 10 audiobooks to listen to while you clean, purge, and tidy. A sign of a good audiobook is that I find myself eager to fold another load of laundry, put away every dish, wipe down the counters and maybe even the range hood. I keep working so I can keep listening.
- When family therapy is worth it: 5 myths about counseling, plus my 5 favorite things about it. If you’ve been thinking about getting counseling for yourself or your relationships, I hope this will help nudge you to follow through.
- The furniture you live on, and the furniture you live around. This has been such a clarifying distinction.
Have a great weekend!

“Your Quiz Result: The Perfectionist” This is hilarious because it’s so true!! But reading Don’t Overthink It has already helped so much.
The Victorian Gothic positive affirmations are hilarious! Thanks for linking.
I always look forward to this post each week makes me happy…today I am buying the flowers. Thanks for adding sparkle to my reading life and my daily life.
Our little town turned a “little library” into a food library. Non-perishable food is donated by the community for those who need it. It’s a wonderful new resource and I’m proud of our town for providing for its community.
Love it!
I am a sucker for a survey or a quiz. Loved it! And yes, I’m a perfectionist… and a procrastinator.
This is the post that I look forward to every single week. x
Those quotes are hysterical! I just sent my high school senior “Fingers crossed I can leave this place through a dissociative fugue state.” asking if it’s too late to change his senior yearbook quote.
Oh my gosh!! I made the Meyer Lemon (I just used lemons) and Cranberry scones and they are DELICIOUS. Thank you so much for the new recipe for my collection.
I’m so happy to hear this!
I also made the scones, and I agree – delicious!
Hi, Anne!
I’m intrigued by your Friday coffee planning meeting–it sounds very useful for a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants kind of gal like me. But your link to it says “I’ll spare you the details.” Any chance you’ll change your mind and lavish us with details? Thanks!
I did change my mind, and wrote all about it in a recent newsletter! You can read that right here: https://ckarchive.com/b/92uzhnhz2wex
Oooh, that Written Soundscapes piece is fascinating! Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to share this. I’m going to buy some flowers next week since I’m working at home, those flowers will help me to reduce stress and make my office look elegant at the same time! Thank you again! You are the best!
