Readers, mark your calendars. The 9th annual Jane Austen Festival is coming soon!
This year’s event will be held July 14- 16, 2017, at Locust Grove in Louisville, Kentucky.
I’ve attended this in the past—this blog does take its name from Jane Austen, after all—and it’s been so much fun. It’s held on the gorgeous grounds of Locust Grove (where we’ve had quite a few family photos taken), a historic home located just a few miles from downtown Louisville, and the only authentic Regency historic home in the area.
The festival features speakers, workshops, a Regency ball, afternoon teas, a Regency promenade, boutiques, and more. Advance registration is required for some events. Click here for more information.
Here’s a peek at what I’ve experienced (with my daughters in tow) at previous festivals.
I hope you enjoyed the photos! Click here for more information on this year’s festival.
Hope to see you there!

This makes me extremely happy! Only a 2-hour drive for me, looking forward to it! Thanks for sharing 🙂
I accidentally came upon a Jane Austen Festival when I was in England. I was taking a day tour that included Bath, Salisbury Cathedral, and Stonehenge. When our bus pulled into Bath and we were getting closer to the city square, we started to notice that people were dressed in Georgian era outfits. Our tour guide then exclaimed, “Oh, it’s the Jane Austen Festival!” Everyone on the bus literally gasped. It felt as if we had stepped back in time. When we left the bus, the participants of the festival were so generous and let us take pictures with them. It was awesome.
