3 episodes I loved lately:
1. The Smartest Person in the Room with Laura Tremaine. Laura (who you may know as the Hollywood Housewife) has a new podcast out. It’s unfolding in seasons, and the first has been dedicated to Hollywood, a topic she knows well.
My favorite episode of the series is #2 with production designer Ethan Tobman. I didn’t know much about Hollywood set design before and had no idea how fascinating it would be. His story about meeting Madonna is gold (and probably applicable to your own life).
2. The West Wing Weekly. In my last What I’m into update, I mentioned Will and I had just started watching The West Wing for the first time, and many of you recommended this podcast.
I was skeptical: I felt like the show itself was a big commitment; who has time to listen to an accompanying podcast, too? But we started this together over the weekend and injected some much-needed entertainment into a long, grueling travel day. That’s high praise.
3. From the Front Porch, the podcast of The Bookshelf bookstore in Thomasville, Georgia. The bookstore has a podcast—so fun! I’m a new subscriber to this, as well as a guest in the newly released episode 90. This podcast is devoted to fun book talk; Annie and Chris asked me about what I’m reading now, the classics I still haven’t read, podcasts I love, and my relationship with indie bookstores.
If you missed Annie in this week’s episode of What Should I Read Next, check that out here. (Her instagram account’s tagline is “channeling Kathleen Kelly.” Need I say more?)
P.S. 7 of my favorite podcasts and the episodes to get you started.

I’m VERY excited to discover that the audio version accompanying the Kindle Unlimited version of David Copperfield features Richard Armitage . . . somehow, I earned an English degree and have never read Dickens. Anyway, I wanted to share for my fellow Anglophiles.
I listened to this recently. His voices are SO good! I loved it and would listen to anything by him.
The West Wing is one of my all-time favorite shows and I’m obsessed with the podcast (best tagline ever-ok. ok. what’s next.) You can now get a t-shirt representing the podcast here…

That’s cool but of course my first thought was we NEED MMD Book Club t-shirts (and book bags and custom book darts and book journals, etc etc)!!!
On another podcast note, Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda was recently interviewed on the New York Times podcast called Inside the Times. Anne, I know you’ve mentioned him a few times so I thought you might enjoy checking that out as you try and get through the Hamilton book.
I am a new subscriber to From the Front Porch after listening to Annie on WSIRN. I love all of the bookish talk and titles to add to my TBR pile. As a Chicagoan, it’s also fun to hear about life in her southern city.
I’ve recently started walking back home from work (it takes me around 30 minutes), and one of the main reasons to do so was that I wanted to carve out some time in my daily schedule to listen to podcasts 🙂 There’s never enough time in a day, right? Yours is obviously the one that I listen to, but I’m always on the lookout for a new gem to add to my playlist. Thanks for the recs, I’m going to listen to the From the front porch immediately 🙂
From the Front Porch is an awesome podcast! That one along with the WSIRN podcast are the two I must listen to each week!! I love all the bookish talk, takes me to my happy place! It’s been a great week having you both on each others podcasts!!!
My husband and I just started watching The West Wing recently for the first time too! We are huge fans and have made it to the middle of season 2 so far. We tried the West Wing Weekly podcast episodes on a recent road trip and really enjoyed them as well. Thanks for the recommendations!
My hubby and I LOVED LOVED the West Wing, but I could not get in to the podcast. What am I missing?????
My Top 3 podcasts (besides yours of course) are: All the BookRiot podcasts, This American Life, and Remarkable Lives, Tragic Deaths- I find it fascinating and learn something new each week!
