The 2020 Summer Reading Guide is coming!

Longtime MMD readers know it’s almost that time again: we’re putting the finishing touches on the 2020 Summer Reading Guide and it’s coming your way on Thursday, May 14!

Every year, I read stacks and stacks of new releases cover-to-cover so I can send you straight to the good stuff. I want to give you the tools you need to find the books that are right for you.

I can’t wait to put this year’s gorgeous guide in your hands. It’s beautiful to look at, easy to reference, and filled with great content. Just like last year, we’re formatting the 2020 guide as a PDF in the style of an e-magazine, and we’re sharing it with readers by email.

Release day is right around the corner and I don’t want you to miss out. To get the guide when we release it on May 14, sign up below. We’ll also send you my newsletter with stories and content only for subscribers.

For more—and early!—Summer Reading Guide goodness, I want to make sure you know about the “Unboxing” I do for our Modern Mrs Darcy Book Club members and What Should I Read Next Patreon community members every year.

This might be the most fun event we have all year: in a ninety-minute live session, I reveal every title in the guide, and tell readers a little about it and why I chose it. Our conversation is casual and unscripted, filled with real talk about great books, in the presence of people who love books and reading.

Unboxing is a DELIGHT, and this year we’re doing it twice to accommodate more readers live: at noon AND 7pm Eastern time on Tuesday, May 12. Members get the guide in their inboxes just after the Unboxing—which means they get it two days early. (!!)

This year for the first time, members of those communities also get an EXPANDED guide, with an additional dozen titles, extra book lists, and more fun bonus content. If you’ve ever considered signing up for either community, this is an excellent time to jump in.

Our Patreon bonus episodes in the coming months will be devoted to more great summer reads—including books I loved but didn’t include in the guide. And we have a fabulous line-up of classes and conversation coming to Book Club this summer. We’re still finalizing the summer schedule, but check out our summer selections and confirmed author chats on our calendar page.

I can’t wait to share the guide with you and to hear what you’re adding to your TBR. And I hope you’ll join one of our readerly communities for the unboxing event on May 12th.

These days it’s so nice to have something to look forward to, and I am really looking forward to the summer reading season to come.

Happy reading, friends!

Anne

P.S. If you think you’re signed up for our email list, but for some reason you’ve stopped getting our emails, would you let us know so we can fix it before May 14? If you want the guide, we want you to get the guide. Just email [email protected] with the subject line “lost emails” and let us know the last email you got from us. (If you’re not sure, search your email for “from: modernmrsdarcy” and see what’s there.)

We appreciate a good conversation in the comments section. Whether we’re talking about books or life, differing opinions can enrich a discussion when they’re offered for the purpose of greater connection and deeper understanding, which we whole-heartedly support. However, my team and I will delete comments that are hurtful or intended to shame members of this community, particularly if they are left by first-time commenters. We have zero tolerance for hate speech or bigotry of any kind. Remember that there are real people on the other side of the screen.
