Podcasts, in short, are radio on demand. You can listen to whatever programs you want whenever you want to. Most podcasts have a daily or weekly schedule, though sometimes they take a break and won’t release anything for a while. That’s why subscribing to a podcast is a good idea–so you will always know when the latest episode is available.

Most people listen to podcasts using a mobile app. If you don’t want to bother with a dedicated app you can just as easily listen directly on a website. Simply click the Play triangle on the player below–go ahead and give it a try. All episodes can be found at whatshouldireadnextpodcast.com so bookmark that page and check back every Tuesday for a new episode.

If you want to listen on your phone without an app, load this link, click the share button in your browser (usually a square with an arrow) and choose “Add to Home Screen.” This will add a bookmark icon to your phone’s home screen.

An app will provide a little more functionality and most importantly allow you to check out other podcasts.

Google Play (Android)

This is the default Android podcasting/music app and usually comes pre-installed on your device. Search for What Should I Read Next. Select the podcast from the list to go to the Details page. From Details click Subscribe (+).

Apple Podcast (iPhone)

This is the default Apple podcasting app and usually comes pre-installed on your device. Search for my name, Anne Bogel, or What Should I Read Next. This will show Podcast Episodes on the top half of the screen and Podcasts on the lower half. Click the WSIRN logo in podcasts. From there you can subscribe for future episodes or play/download older episodes.

Stitcher (Android/iPhone)

Stitcher is a popular podcast app available on both Android and Apple phones. Search for What Should I Read Next and click the plus sign (+) to add it to your Favorites List. Now go to the Favorites List.  Tell it to download new episodes by clicking the gear in the upper right corner.

Overcast (iPhone)

This is actually my favorite app. I like that you can adjust the speed in smaller increments. To listen to WSIRN click the plus sign (+) in the top right corner. This takes you to the Add Podcast screen where you might overlook a small gray search bar at the top of the screen. Search for my name, Anne Bogel, or What Should I Read Next. Click the WSIRN logo. From there you can subscribe for future episodes or play/download older episodes.
