I never wanted to be one of those people who couldn’t wait for the weekend … but I’m so glad it’s the weekend! My college kid is coming home, we’re planning a nice mix of busy-ness and cozy-ness, and I’m loving this early November weather.
I hope you have something fun in store for your weekend, and that this collection of interesting reads and favorite things helps ease you into that weekend frame of mind.

What is that beautiful cake in the picture?
I was hoping for that recipe too! It looks delicious!
Agreed! I even clicked on the photo hoping it took me to a secretive link ❤️
I did the same! 🙂
Looks a lot like a sticky toffee pudding cake?

I saw that puzzle listed in the Costco Connection magazine and wondered who would buy it, too! Lol
That puzzle is just…wow. I guess I would be one of those that would buy it if I wanted to give up everything else for the rest of my life! I would love to see a finished version though.
If my kids were still living at home, I might buy that puzzle if it were not $599!
I enjoyed reading about the Abbott Elementary writer, I love that show. Witty and has a good heart…
What is the recipe for the cake? It looks so delicious!
My thought as well…Anne, is there a recipe to share, pretty please?
Do you follow the Karen Puzzles channel on YouTube – all lovers of jigsaw puzzles will find something there. I’ll bet anything she’ll get wind of that Costco puzzle and will try to complete it and film it for us to see.
I would definitely buy and do that puzzle if I was retired. It’s going on my bucket list right. now.
I loved the article about Anne’s must-visit southern bookstores! That puzzle is insane! I don’t have a room in my house large enough for that puzzle let alone a table! I did a 5000 piece puzzle once and it occupied the dining room table for about 6 months. And please post a link to the cake recipe, which looks fabulous!
Another great Southern bookstore is The Storybook Shoppe in Bluffton, SC – the only children’s bookstore in SC. Sally Sue, the owner, loves to recommend books for kids’ specific interests and personalities, in person or over the phone, and is happy to ship the books. If you’re visiting Hilton Head be sure to go.
