My favorite finds from around the web:
• 24 books that perfectly match New York Fashion Week looks.
• The ultimate fall to-do list. (For people who hate fall but pretend to love it.)
• 7 things I learned about myself from getting a dog. I loved this, especially because we’re considering trying again with a new puppy later this fall.
• Stop googling. Let’s talk. “Our texts are fine. It’s what texting does to our conversations when we are together that’s the problem.”
What I’m reading this week:
I’m listening to Mindy Kaling’s new book Why Not Me? on audio.
On the blog:
One year ago: Are you a savorer or a speed reader? In which I probe a fault line among readers.
Two years ago: Why you are the way you are. As far as personality theories go, this was my first love.
Three years ago: Balance isn’t a see-saw. It’s a game of twister. A better metaphor for balance.
Have a great weekend!

I finished Mindy’s new audiobook last week and it was very cute and entertaining. Sure made a long drive more interesting.
The Fashion Week-books connections were interesting. I was struck by the expressions on the models’ faces. I know that it is considered appropriate to look haughty and bored, but some of them looked downright mean and angry.
I was too busy comparing the dresses to the books to notice!
That ultimate fall to-do list was the best. Oh, how I hate fall.
That fall list is amazing…
I just finished Why Not Me? this morning and loved it even more than her first book! I hope you share more about what you think of it, especially the last essay on confidence and hard work.
Those books compared to NYFW looks were really remarkable!!!
Anne,
Thanks for providing me awesome Saturday morning reading. A total jackpot for fun and interesting stuff. Especially NYFW!

I just finished the Why Not Me audiobook today. I think the last chapter is worth getting through the whole book. And as a single 30 year old the chapter on being a bridesmaid hit WAY close to home, she perfectly put my exact feelings on all my friends getting married.
