I’ve been meaning to take these outfit photos–of a recent fix from Stitch Fix–for a while now, but I keep putting it off because I hate doing it. (True confessions, people.) Style shots are out of my element, I feel like a total idiot, and the timing is rarely convenient with the kids.
But last weekend we did something crazy and brought all four kids along to do photos in the next neighborhood over.
along for the ride. Silas is clearly into making funny faces these days.Â
(We left the dog at home. We’re not totally insane.)
I asked Stitch Fix to send me a few fall basics. I also requested a bag–never dreaming they’d actually be able to send me one–and they came through for me.
Kensie sweater and 41 Hawthorn cross-body bag from Stitch Fix, and a Noonday Collection necklace that might look familiar. I’m also wearing my Jawbone Up with my grandma’s gold bracelet–an unlikely but frequent combination.Â
a better view of the bag, which came with a coordinating tote (shown below)
Red 23 tee from Stitch Fix
another angle. I’m breaking the rule of three here, and I’m okay with that.Â
Willow and Clay sweater from Stitch Fix, with my Jawbone Up and my *other* grandma’s bracelet.
Pink Martini tank and 41 Hawthorn tote, both from Stitch Fix. The tote came in a set with the cross-body bag pictured above. I love this bag.
With beautiful scenery and happy kids, the photos went really fast. And then we spent an hour cheerfully browsing our local bookstore (although now my to-read list is absolutely ridiculous, even by my standards).
Now I just need some cooler days so I can wear my sweaters and boots. I’m ready.
You can read my other Stitch Fix posts here. (Stitch Fix is a personal styling service; here’s the lowdown.) And for the small but dedicated minority who love the beauty and style posts above all others, the archives are here.
Are you ready for sweater season too?

Very cute! I think it’s about time for me to schedule another Fix. I really love the bag they send you! That striped top is cute, too. Are you keeping all of it?
I did keep it all last time. I never really replenished my fall basics after the last baby. Now I feel much better prepared for cooler weather. 🙂
lovely! glad you did a style post. 🙂
I’ve been SO happy with Stitch Fix for the year (I think?) I’ve been using it and I owe that all to you for convincing me to give it a try 🙂
And, I think you look lovely in your photos and the the clothes look great – totally natural and very pretty 🙂
I’m so glad! And thank you. 🙂
These are so cute. I signed up for Stitch Fix but never ordered a box. Now that my spending freeze is over, I might go for it. I have trouble choosing bags and accessories, and I’d love something age-appropriate but fun for winter. And if you want cold weather, head north a tad. I’m NOT DONE WITH SUMMER YET and we’re having ridiculous morning lows. My kids don’t have winter clothes yet and are looking ridiculous wearing too-small pants and sweaters and sandals stuffed with socks.
Personally, I’d like to hang out in the early fall season, with 55 degree mornings and 70 degree highs, for a good long while. Here’s hoping…
Love that polka dot sweater! And the bags! And thanks for the “rule of three” tip – that’s really helpful.
This post is totally adorable:-)
Okay, I would love to hear your tips on how you pose to look so great. I never know what to do with my hands, my legs, etc. I would love to hear your tips because you pulled it off great in these pictures!
You are so sweet. I feel really awkward though! My #1 tip is to have something to fidget with. There’s a reason I’m holding a drink. 🙂
Great shots and very nice outfits; you look good in all of them. I especially like the polka-dot sweater: I Googled Willow & Clay and didn’t really like anything else I saw in their line, but that sweater looks so nice on you.
I just did the same thing and see what you mean! But thank you. 🙂
These pictures are great, Anne! And all of those tops you’re sporting are so flattering on you.
I *think* I’m ready for fall. I love cooler temperatures (sweaters, boots, coats, scarves – what’s not to like?!) but I’m finding it harder this year to say goodbye to the summer season.
This Fix is a total winner! If we lived closer, I’d be asking to borrow it all. 🙂
That would be so fun. Wish you were close enough to trade clothes back and forth!
It’s the sandals I want to know about. What brand and style are those?
They’re J-41s and they’re really old. I couldn’t find anything like this style with a quick google search, but I found a few pairs of other styles available here (and on sale!)
I love every single top! Especially the striped one and the polka dot sweater, so classic and cute! They outdid themselves this time!
Those sweaters are fabulous! I love reading Stitch Fix posts.
Great pics! And adorable kids 🙂
Looks like you had fun with the photo shoot. Good for you to do things out of your comfort zone. The hour in the bookstore sounds wonderful, too 🙂
Lovely picks! I really like that elegant cream-colored sweater and the easy drape of that black-and-white tee.
Super cute neighborhood, by the way! You live in the south, right?
P.S. Did you do a clothing “switcheroo” in the car? Ah, the life of a blogger. 😉
I’m in Louisville, which is about as north as you can get and still call it the South. But the default tea here is unsweetened. 🙂
And yeah, thank goodness for camisoles!
