My favorite finds from around the web:
• Shea Serrano Unleashes Indie Love on Carmichael’s Bookstore. This is such a cool story about my local indie. (The Shelf Awareness version I link to is gentle, but if you start clicking the links within that link you’ll quickly encounter language that would make a pirate blush.)
• Six portraits on display deepen the mystery of Jane Austen. “One might think that the portraits, taken together, would give viewers a more robust sense of the author—at least in terms of her physical appearance. Instead, they highlight just how enigmatic she has become in the years since her death.”
• How real books have trumped ebooks. The short answer: publishers started making the physical goods really, really beautiful. “It feels like we’re living through a special moment in the history of book design and beautiful books are everywhere.”
• 10 built-in bookshelves that did it right. All the heart eyes for this one.

Beautifully done built ins! Thank you so much for this link. I noticed the ‘spines in’ approach on a couple to achieve a monochromatic look. Your post recently on arranging without the jackets by spine color made me more aware of looking for these details. It really is very personal, and there are so many choices to switch it up!
Hi Anne! Did you ever check out the book Cycle Savvy: The Smart Teen’s Guide to the Mysteries of Her Body that you mentioned in the comments section of your post six years ago: Best book you’ve never heard of on… fertility? If so, I was just wondering what you thought of it.
