I hope you have a wonderful weekend to look forward to. We’re watching kids play sports, recovering from sleepovers, and hopefully sneaking in a few episodes of Scandal.
My favorite finds from around the web:
• 10 of the most exciting book releases for 2018. I have read exactly zero of these so far.
• 9 time habits that will make you super productive in 2018. Read in bits of time, have afternoon tea, make time to read: you can see why I love this one.
• You won’t be able to go to Trader Joe’s without hearing this song. Hahaha! Thanks for sharing this in response to this week’s post on my favorite things to buy at Trader Joe’s.
• The art of unpacking a library. “The unpacking of books, perhaps because it is essentially chaotic, is a creative act.”
• My family loved this broccoli recipe. (And lest you think it’s all-healthy-all-the-time around here, we’ve also been enjoying this simple chocolate cake for the first time in a year or two.)

The kitchen counter situation isn’t always pretty. Or at least, it’s not always ready for cooking. (Follow me on instagram @annebogel.)
New month, new books
February Book of the Month selections are here. This is the best month since last September, easy. I loved The Great Alone (read it in a day last weekend), am always excited for a new Jojo Moyes, and finished An American Marriage last night. (Is it weird that it felt like a darker, more literary One True Loves?)
New members get their first month free with code YESPLZ.
Note: Book of the Month sent me these books gratis, but I don’t share books unless I want to—and these are worth sharing.
On the blog:
One year ago: Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is … “Sometimes the most productive thing you can do doesn’t look remotely productive.”
Two years ago: Trusting the process. “I finally feel like I’m ready to do this thing that’s so important to me this year.”
Three years ago: 4 minutes in the nude, aka what was saving my life in 2015.
Four years ago: Creative habits and daily rituals vs. day jobs and family life, inspired by this great book.
Five years ago: How to know yourself, determine your personal style, and get a Stitch Fix box you love.
Six years ago: 7 books that changed my life.
Have a great weekend!

I WANT that coffee mug! Please share where you found it!
I was just coming to say that!
That was going to be my comment!! :-).
The other content was good, too. Of the nine habits, I already embrace at least six of them. Yay me.
The new books didn’t appeal as much. We shall see.
I don’t have a Trader Joe near me. 🙁
Have a great weekend.
My first thought was: I NEED that mug!
And now all I can do is hear “Eleanor Rigby” in everything around me! “My Bullet Journal”…
Ditto on the coffee mug!
Now, about that cake… has anyone tried baking it as cupcakes or mini-cupcakes? If you have, how did they turn out? I’m thinking that using non-stick culinary parchment sleeves would make it doable, even with a moist cake like this. (I looked through the comments for the original post, but no one had mentioned trying it.)
Thank you for sharing the “habits” link. You gave me much to think about on this Saturday morning. Off to try your broccoli recipe.
Ditto on the coffee mug!?
I’m also coveting that mug!
Um, I want the mug as well!
Roasted broccoli is one of the best dishes EVER. If you have an air fryer, it’s faster and you can use less oil doing it there. B. Sprouts are also delicious this way as is cauliflower. Yum.
Where, oh where, did you find that wonderful coffee mug?????

I just joined BOTM and ordered The Great Alone. I’m so excited to read it!
Is there any way to get back to your show notes for your earlier episodes? Your choosing a month search engine does not seem to work past January of 2016 which is very frustrating.
