Tea snobs adore Rishi Tea for their organic, fair trade teas and blends.
But my very favorite Rishi tea is their turmeric ginger herbal blend. There’s nothing else like it.
I know, it sounds weird. This is not the flavor you instinctively reach for when you spot it on the grocery store shelf. This zesty blend–composed of ginger, turmeric, licorice, and citrus–isn’t for everyone. Tea drinkers either love it or hate it.
Ginger gives this tea a serious bite, and turmeric colors it a gorgeous golden yellow. (Apparently many people drink this tea for the health benefits of the turmeric and ginger. That’s a nice bonus, but it’s not why I drink it.)
Turmeric ginger has its share of raving fans. If you suspect you could be one of them, I suggest picking up a box from Amazon or Whole Foods. If you like it, order more in bulk directly from Rishi, where the price per ounce is much lower.
If you’d like to try a more crowd-pleasing blend, I recommend the tangerine ginger. But if you want to stick with the cult favorite, turmeric ginger is the one for you.
Are you a tea snob? What’s your favorite tea?
