How to join the Reading People launch team

How to join the Reading People launch team

UPDATE: The application form is now turned off because we received more than 1000 applications in the first 24 hours. Thanks so much for your enthusiasm!

I’m so excited to finally share this: it’s time to put the launch team together for my book Reading People: How Seeing the World Through the Lens of Personality Changes Everything.

I was thrilled when my publisher told me we’d have a launch team—that’s a group of real readers (meaning: not celebrities, “influencers”, or Oprah) who get to be a part of the book launch process. They help spread the word by telling their friends, sharing on social media, blogging about it, and anything else they can think of.

As a member of the launch team, you get to read the book before anyone else (fun!), and you’ll participate in a private Facebook group with me and your fellow launch team members, where we’ll keep you up to date with what’s happening with the book. I’ll go live a few times to talk to everyone and give you the latest. We’ll include lots of peeks behind the scenes of the publishing process. A good time will be had by all.

Members of the launch team are asked to do 4 things:

  1. Read the book before release date. (Woohoo!)
  2. Spread the word online (blog, social media, etc) and offline (word of mouth) before and after launch.
  3. Submit an honest reviewer on your favorite retailer site (Barnes and Noble, Target, Amazon, etc). Reviews matter so much! A Goodreads review would also be much appreciated.
  4. If you have a blog or online community, we’d love to see you review or share the book there.

Want to join? Apply here. My publisher will choose 300 readers the week of July 17—that’s soon! (UPDATE: after receiving 1000+ applications, my publisher has closed the form. Launch team members will receive a welcome email the week of July 17. Thanks so much for your interest!)

Thanks so much for the enthusiasm you’ve shown for my book so far. I hope you’ll consider joining the launch team. I can’t wait to meet and mingle there! We have some special things coming your way. Also, I will be eternally grateful.

Read more about the book itself here. Reading People is available right now for pre-order wherever new books are sold. Get all the info about the fantastic pre-order bonuses right here.

Thank you!

I wasn’t expecting that either! They received 1000+ entries on Thursday and closed the form. I appreciate your willingness to apply so much!

Tried yesterday, but that closed pretty fast…….. so did they pick the først 300??? Sorry, but with no explanation given for closing it that fast, it leaves me wondering….. and can see others are surprised too……

I updated the post to say I didn’t expect it to close that fast! They received over a thousand entries on Thurday and turned off the form.

Oh man! I applied, and told my husband all about it! He sat and listened to me rave about how excited I am for your new book with about as much interest as he always does, a few “wow that’s cool”‘s while playing games on his computer, ha! Cannot wait to read this book, I love how interesting it sounds!!!

Yikes, I put off filling out the application from Thursday (when the post appeared) until the weekend, and you’re already over-filled. Well, I have a 6000+ following on Twitter, so even if I’m not part of your official launch team, I’ll definitely be sharing my thoughts there and elsewhere once I’ve read the book. Meanwhile, I hope you’ll share your experiences with having/running a launch team, as I’m sure other authors (and readers) will find it fascinating. Good luck with the launch, Anne!
