One year ago: 7 books recommended by local booksellers.

Two years ago: 7 things I’m choosing to splurge on right now.

Three years ago: Dream jobs. “Knowing your dream job criteria is obviously useful if you’re looking for work. But much like personality types, it’s useful to know your strengths (and your weaknesses) even when you’re not.”

Four years ago: 7 books I read over and over again.

Have a great weekend!

Anne is already airing in Canada. It is very well done, however you may want to preview before watching with your children. It doesn’t shy away from dealing with the repercussions of a traumatic childhood. (complete with flashbacks). The scenery is spectacular, I am really enjoying it so far.

I was going to say the same thing! It’s so we’ll done and I’m enjoying the realistic portrayal of Anne’s early years. The writers have done an amazing job reading between the lines of LM Montgomery’s work while keeping her spirit and wonder alive.

I clicked through to your splurges and have now taken a Tieks plunge. My wallet is lighter but I’m hoping for happy feet!

It’s so funny that you shared the adult friend link! I just asked my husband this week how to make some friends (of course he laughed and said he doesn’t know because he doesn’t have any either). Thanks for sharing!!

I am so fortunate to still be so close to my best friend from high school. The third in our little trio is a friend of hers since preschool! But it has not been without work. I realized early in our 20’s that it was hard to keep up with each of us having different jobs (and even very different zip codes at times) so I established a weekly girls’ night every Friday. Our girls’ nights now look a lot different than they did 10 years ago, and we can’t do it every week, but I’m so glad we’ve kept it up over the years. My best girls have saved my sanity over and over again and I wouldn’t want life without them (we already have plans to live in the same nursing home and terrorize the attendants.) So YES if you don’t have a best girl friend, OR you’ve lost touch, everyone really needs one – I would argue this is nearly as vital as oxygen.

I love the “making friends as an adult” post; I’m so thankful for my running and reading buddies and, I have to admit, it would be much more difficult for us to stay connected without text messages and social media. I’m super excited about Anne of Green Gables on Netflix – GAH!!!
