My favorite finds from around the web:
• PBS will premier a new Anne of Green Gables movie on Thanksgiving Day. With a preview trailer!
• The long wait for F. Scott Fitzgerald’s “lost stories.” “Some of his short stories were deemed too controversial for publication and several of these are included in an upcoming book.”
• Carla Hayden takes charge of the world’s largest library. All about the new Librarian of Congress.
• 13 writing tips from J.K. Rowling, who knows a thing or two about perseverance. “I stopped pretending to myself that I was anything other than what I was, and began to direct all my energy into finishing the only work that mattered to me.” (Not just for writers.)

I had no idea about this new Anne of Green Gables movie!! I absolutely loved those growing up. All of these links were great, really enjoyed the JK Rowling tips!
My door is that color! It’s the prettiest thing ever.

“The Library of Congress…is home to a hundred and sixty-two million items and hundreds of miles of bookshelves.” Hmm… I may have found my next vacation spot!
I saw Carla Hayden speak on Saturday as she introduced Stephen King at the National Book Festival. This free event is like Christmas for book lovers–I highly recommend it to anyone who can make it to D.C. The date is a bit of a moving target, but it’s generally late August or September and is announced well in advance. We walked away with signed books and wonderful memories from Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Lois Lowry, and my personal favorite, the magnificent John Lewis–who had spent the day dedicating the National Museum of African American History up the street. As I told my son, that morning the President gave him a hug, and tonight you shook his hand. Another unforgettable memory from this very worthy event.
Gotta check out the movie! How exciting!
